Defibrillator Training
Team fc are extremely proud of our Health and Safety record and training, we strive on an ongoing basis for continual improvement.
Beth tells us a little about her Defibrillator training experience:
“This week at FC Cartons, myself and 13 other colleagues took part in defibrillator training, provided by the recognised DEFIB Machines Ltd. The training covered a variety of topics to ensure myself and colleagues feel confident to use a defibrillator in and out of the workplace, should we need to in an emergency. The topics discussed varied from the general use of a defib machine, use of a defib machine for paediatrics, lesser known circumstances which may affect the use of a defibrillator machine e.g. piercings, medical patches, and pacemakers and most importantly – general first aid to abide by when using a defibrillator machine to keep yourself and the patient safe.
I found the training to be extremely informative and personally reassuring to know that myself and others at FC Cartons, would be competent and confident to use a defibrillator should be we need to. Furthermore, I think it’s important to note that cardiac arrest can unfortunately happen at any age, any place and any time; therefore the training is very applicable and crucial within an emergency. I believe it would be highly beneficial for more workplaces and schools to provide this training for their staff in the manner that FC Cartons have done, to ensure confidence regarding defibrillation within the workplace”.
