FC Introduce a paperless production system

One of our Key 2025-26 objectives was to introduce a paperless production system.

Jade Murray: Quality & Systems Manager explains:

“One of our Key 2025-26 objectives was to introduce a paperless production system, by October 2025 this was achieved and all machines are now running on the system for all production live data collection.

By moving to a paperless system, we have been able to develop our system so that we can continue to extend and improve the service we provide to our customers’ as well as supporting our environmental objectives.

We were delighted to have completed our BRCGS/ ISO audits during February 2026 with no issues raised on the new system.

Moving to the new paperless production system has been a great achievement and the whole team have been on board with the change, which has been a crucial part of getting the system up and running. We are now able to look at KPI’s through live data, trend data and have key reminders issued.

Looking to the future we have more processes and data capture that will be developed and we look forward to working on this development with our digital partner.”

Adrian of Quincely told us:

“The absolute key to a successful implementation is commitment. It was clear to me from the very first meeting that FC Cartons wanted to digitalise and from the outset the management team were 100% behind the project.’

In every transformational project, there will be some hurdles. We were always able to work together to overcome the hurdles and it always felt that we were working in partnership. That makes designing, building and implementing a great solution so much easier.

There was always an end goal, the energy of the team never faltered in their desire to reach that goal. Of course there were tricky moments, but there were never problems, just challenges to overcome together.

Continuous improvement is so important to BRCGS and even after we had implemented, there was (and still is) a desire to make the solution better, both for the business and the teams using it. We have always been happy working with Jade in making those changes. They improve the business, but of course, they help to improve what we are doing too.

People and trust are so important in every project. Each time I walk through the door at FC Cartons I feel welcomed and part of the team. It has been a pleasure working with each and every one of the team.”

Chris Greensmith was delighted to share his thoughts and involvement in the implementation:

“I was pleased to have the opportunity to be part of the first team to trial the paperless Job bag system. This really helped and it was much easier to adapt to how the system works and ensure both the machine operator and assistant use the platform in the most efficient way, whilst running the project in hand.

Having now had the opportunity to use the system in a live production environment I can identify a number of key benefits we have achieved. It is a great advancement for the Company to be using technology to make their employees job easier and the Business more efficient.”

Team FC are very proud of the implementation and very much look forward to seeing further benefits for the business, but most importantly the further service improvements we can deliver for our Customers’.
