21st January 2025 the day Ross Hilton became our latest First Aider!
Ross showed great interest, application and enthusiasm from the moment the course commenced.
We were interested to know why Ross had decided he wanted to become a First Aider; he told us:
“I would be able to help other people who needed help, which I felt would make me a better person. It is extremely rewarding to think that I could help somebody who had got into a difficult situation.”
He went on to explain –
“the course was both very interesting and fun, the biggest compliment I could pay, is that I went into the course not knowing very much, to feeling I knew a lot when leaving. Steve the course trainer made everyone feel both comfortable and welcome especially me who had never done anything like this before!”
Ross told us what really stood out from the training and would stay with him for a long time:
“It was how quickly you can learn a lot of things in a short period of time, the very best example and most rewarding is CPR. I was also surprised to learn that by putting cling film or a clean plastic bag around a burn will help reduce the pain!”
